Angela was born and raised in Zimbabwe on a farm. She did all her education including veterinary training in Zimbabwe and came to the UK in 1999 to further her veterinary training and gain membership into the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Unfortunately the political situation in Zimbabwe rapidly deteriorated between 1999 and 2002 and Angela decided to continue living and working in the UK. She acquired her first veterinary job in Southampton and remained at that practice for the next 7 years. Her yearning for a more rural life began and she slowly migrated south west until starting this practice with colleague and friends, Charlie and Janet in 2012. Angela enjoys an active outdoor life and particularly enjoys horse riding, cycling and gardening. She has 2 cats and a crazy little dog (Crazy Maisie) as pets. |
Charlie is a farmer’s son who grew up in a village outside Tiverton. Being around animals from a young age inspired him to pursue a veterinary career. On finishing his A levels at Exeter College, Charlie started vet school at Cambridge. While at university Charlie met his wife Janet. They married before he started his final year. While at university Charlie started to develop his interest in orthopaedics. Upon qualifying in 2002 Charlie started his career working in a small animal practice in Hampshire. He moved back to Devon upon the birth of his first child. While in Devon he worked in mixed practice in Okehampton before taking up a position in Exeter working as a sole charge vet in a small animal practice. Milestone Veterinary Centre realises Charlie’s ambition to own and run a veterinary surgery. Working together with Angela, Charlie is intending to develop Milestone Veterinary Centre into a caring, understanding practice that builds strong links with the local community as well as providing a high standard of veterinary care. |
Janet grew up in Kent and met Charlie, one of our vets, during their time at university. They married and moved to Devon where she has now made her home. Janet has always had pets in the family and is delighted to be able to work in an environment with animals at the centre. When not at work Janet enjoys spending time with her three children and singing in a local choir. |
