The decision to have your treasured pet put to sleep may be one of the most difficult choices you have to make. At some point it may become obvious to you following discussions with your vet that your pet’s life is drawing to a close, and it may be necessary to intervene and ease their pain and suffering.
All of the team at Milestone Vets will do their best to help you prepare for these final days with the care, compassion and the sensitivity they require.
In the weeks leading up to your pet’s final day, we encourage you to talk with our vets and our specialist 'End of Life' nurses who can provide you with the support and information you need to make informed choices ahead of time.
Your wishes and decisions will be added to your pet’s record every step of the way.
Generally, we will put pets to sleep at the practice. Where possible we will book you a double appointment, so you have plenty of time to say goodbye. If you would like your pet put to sleep at home, we are happy to arrange a house visit during surgery hours, please talk with a member of our team to arrange this.
*****Please note - we are unable to offer house visits at the moment due to the recent COVID restrictions***** We will keep you updated if this changes.
Please contact Reception if you are interested in talking to our specialist End of Life Nurse Consultant on 01626 331977
